Granite State Elite Sports

Policies and Overview

Granite State Elite Sport’s lacrosse and Field Hockey programs are referred to as “GSE” and is a private club.  Membership on this team is by invitation only and players must try out and renew yearly.  Prior membership on GSE does not guarantee future membership.

The purpose of GSE is to provide top-level training and opportunities for exposure for those athletes whose goal it is to compete at the highest levels while in middle school thru high school, and eventually to play at the collegiate level. GSE participates in the best tournaments in the country, which includes tournaments that are premiere recruiting showcases for colleges. This allows players to compete against the best players from other areas of the country and to showcase their ability and skill while having fun and developing higher-level lacrosse/field hockey skills.

GSE is a commitment and not a recreational program.

GSE has already sent numerous players to Division I, II & III college programs and is known by college coaches across the nation.

GSE is dedicated to excellence in lacrosse/field hockey and sportsmanship, and expects players to conduct themselves as examples to all. All players must conduct themselves accordingly or they may be dismissed from the team at the sole discretion of the Director. The Directors of Lacrosse and Field Hockey maintain exclusive decision-making authority over all GSE activities and operations including, but not limited to, coaching appointments, player evaluation and assignment, league placements, public relations, finances, and player and/or family member conduct, behavior and disciplinary action.

All players are expected to attend all practices. If a player cannot make a practice for a certain reason, contact must be made to their coach or team parent at least one day prior. Missing multiple practices without a legitimate excuse could affect a player’s ability to participate in certain tournaments.

Parents are required to defer to the GSE Directors for all decisions regarding the players, and how they are to be coached. Those parents, who wish to become more involved in the program, please don’t hesitate to contact us and let us know how you can help.

US Lacrosse Membership: Each lacrosse player is required to be a member of US Lacrosse and adhere to the US Lacrosse Code of Conduct. Go to www.uslacrosse.org to become a member or renew your membership.

USA Field Hockey Membership: Each field hockey player is required to be a member of USA Field Hockey and adhere to the USA Field Hockey Code of Conduct. Go to www.usfieldhockey.com to become a member or renew your membership.

US Lacrosse/USA Field Hockey membership numbers and expiration dates must be entered into the NGIN database. It is the sole responsibility of the parent/player to maintain a current membership with the appropriate organization. No player will be allowed to play without a current membership with US Lacrosse and/or USA Field Hockey.

Tournament Policies:

Tournament dates and registration forms will be available on the website. At that time, all players will be instructed to put in their requests. Tournament fees must be paid in full by May 15th.

All travel and accommodation expenses for tournaments are the responsibility of the player’s family. Information regarding directions to tournaments, hotels, and player waivers are available on our schedule page.  As these tournaments fill up quickly, obtaining lodging at a date close to the tournament will be very difficult.

Tournament participation and player positioning on the teams is the sole decision of the coaches. It will be based on team needs and players performance, NOT on requests or parental input. Rosters and game schedules will be available the week of the tournament.

Players will arrive at the field for tournaments 45 minutes before their first scheduled game and 30 minutes before each subsequent game. They should be in full uniform and prepared to warm up at that time. Being on time is the PLAYERS responsibility – not the parents. If this rule is not adhered to, the player may lose playing time for that game.

Playing, positioning, strategy and all other executive decisions will be determined by the coach.  Each year, GSE attends tournaments of a wide variety of competition levels. At the more competitive tournaments, it benefits the entire GSE program for our teams to perform well. In those situations, playing time will be determined with the focus on winning.

Players are discouraged from joining or committing to other club programs that interfere with their participation in GSE.

Fees and Refund policy:

After tryouts in August, there will be deposit required to become a member of the team. Final yearly payment must be made by January.  Since player registration holds a spot on the roster, your membership fee is non-refundable. The Membership fee pays for all winter and summer practices, tournaments and GSE expenses for the year (Field space, coaching fees, awards, web sites, equipment, etc). Payment will ensure membership with the club until August 15th of that year.

Uniform and travel expenses are separate from the annual membership fee.  Our uniform includes a GSE jersey and skirt. Uniform fee is due with registration.

Yearly entry fees will vary by team.  They are based on roster numbers, practices and which tournaments the team is scheduled to play in.

GSE will keep records of all transactions. However, parents are encouraged to do so as well. There will be a charge of $25.00 for returned checks.

Once the yearly fees are paid, it will not be refunded or credited for future play FOR ANY REASON (this includes change of family plans, player injury, or illness). GSE, tournament, league, and facility rental expenses are pre-paid in advance. Inability for us to field a team that we have submitted threatens our participation at future tournaments!
